Operation On-Target Plans

Bob Bruninga, WB4APR, US Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD

This page will be used as a planning document to see where other scout and youth groups plan on climbing to participate in Operation On Target.

All we need is your LAT/LONG and group name and we will add you to the map. You can zoom in on the map to resolve close together groups. Just send your LAT/LONG to wb4apr@amsat.org

Until those plans come in, the map is Blank. So for now we will use the map below as an example of how APRS can enhance On Target! Now with the International SPace Station serving as an APRS digipeater, if you carry along an APRS radio, we can do the following each of the 7 passes of ISS over OPERATION ON TARGET on 21 July. This is how it looked when we use the space station MIR in 1998:

javAPRS Commands (Case Insensitive)
U or D
zooms up/down (you may also use PGup/dn)
L, S, or M
List stations, Show Status or Messages to Java console
CTRL or ALT-click
Centers or Zooms map on clicked location
Arrow keys
scrolls map
